|The B-Day Wish Cake spread was developed by me in 1985 for a friend's birthday. This fun spread will give you an idea of what is in store for you or your client during the upcoming year. This spread uses six cards in the layout but the really unique element about this spread is that if you are doing it for someone else, they get to pick the last card after they have made a wish. You can also draw clarifying cards if you need to use them.
Card #1 is the Significator. Card #2 is the situation the birthday person is ready to move out of. Card #3 is the direction the birthday person is ready to go in. Card #4 is how the year between birthdays will be in general for the birthday person. Card #5 is what the birthday person will likely accomplish in the year ahead. Card #6 is the birthday wish and what it will take to make it a reality. This card should preferably be drawn by the person who is having the birthday if this spread is being done for someone else. If that person does not have a deck to draw a card from and this is not a face-to-face reading, then the reader should fan out the remaining cards face down on the table and have the birthday person choose a number between 1 and the remaining number of cards (73 if this is a standard numbered deck of 78 cards and if no clarifying cards were drawn. Of course the number would be less if they were used). Once the number is chosen, the reader should count the cards from left to right until they get to the card number chosen by the client. For example, the client chooses #35. The reader then counts off 35 cards starting from the left side of the fanned out deck and the 35th card is the wish card. (c) Maralee Fox-Heins
